Bolbitis heteroclita

A hard to find miniature fern with tiny fronds less than a couple inches tall.  Emerald-green, finely dissected fronds, and requirement for humidity (a must) make this a terrific terrarium plant.  Will sometimes produce new plantlets at frond tips.

Lovely fern

A beautiful terrarium plant-it's thriving!

Nice and small

I was very pleased with the health, size and look of this little guy when I received it. I enjoy closed, woodsy looking terrariums, and I think it would have been perfect for that. Ironically, I was saving it for one but was maybe a little nervous about too much humidity at first. So I only had it loosely covered for a while. Then sadly, got distracted and let it dry out more than once. I ended up losing it, but I would definitely like to try it again.

Wonderful fern!

This is one of my favorite ferns! It looks great — I keep it with my geckos. It seems tolerant of being directly sprayed and high humdiity, as long as you have well-draining soil.

A bit delicate

Was black over top half of plant when it arrived (probably due to cold). Rest of plant is healthy and a beautiful green. Should be fine with a little TLC

Should have paid attention

I recieved this plant for a terrarium and it was very well packed. I should have paid attention and follwed the product information. I unpacked it and left it in an open terrarium with no humidity overnight. By the time I went to plant it the next day the ends of the fronds had turned black. I imediately planted it in the humid vivarium since there was still some life to it. I'm hoping with the right conditions it will bounce back. It really is a nice looking fern and is a perfect size for my vivarium. Lesson learned the hard way. Pay attention to the requirements in the product information!
