WOW Happy Harold
I love love this violet. I bought one from you several years ago. Unfortunately I finally lost it and have been looking for it to return. This violet is outstanding and easy to grow. You are never disappointed with this plant. Beautiful blooms and beautiful foliage. *

Obsessed with Happy Harold
Happy Harold has grown so well for me—a few leaves broke in transit but it is filling in with zeal. I just spotted a bud, but honestly the beautiful variegated foliage alone is enough to make me happy

Best Violet Ever
I would give Happy Harold 10 stars if I could. He really is a happy dude, and he brings me so much happiness. He's in constant bloom no matter what I do to him (though I do take good care of him to be fair). His blooms are simple but so beautiful at the same time. I love that they aren't sticktite - I let them spread out over the table as decoration. If I could only have one violet it would be this one. I hope I never lose him. When I first got him he took some months to fill in and find his variegation so be patient, because it's worth the wait. He will reward you for your belief in him!
Beautiful leaves
I bought this one for the leaves. The flowers do add to it, but it’s the leaves that make the plant. I took two leaves for starters, and now have 3 plants. One of them has a solid white leaf, with a lot of the others having a lot of white also. Love this plant!

Very Rare Leaves
I had one of these a few years ago. It was huge and beautiful with leaves that were outstandingly rare! There is no other violet with these leaves. It is gorgeous!!! The purple flowers contrast the leaves wonderfully!!!!
Happy Harold is Happy!
I am so excited that my Happy Harold is going to bloom for the first time! I have 7 buds! The plant is thriving and I am waiting patiently for the buds to open! *
Harold is fun to watch
I inherited my HH from my grandmother (which I had given her). She never could "get it to variegate", the leaves would stay green. When I took it, it turned opposite, always with white leaves. That's when I used trial & error to figure out, HH will adapt its leaf color to how much sun and the temperature of the light it is getting. In summer, I watch it be almost white, in winter it is almost totally green, in spring/fall, it is a nice variegate. moving around into different windows also gives you the different results. To me, it is my favorite violet just because it really is like Harold is 'talking' and communicating if he likes the current sun.
So happy Harold is back!
Last year, I lost my Happy Harold in an Earthquake and I was devastated. The foliage is outstanding as it is, but he was about to bloom when he landed on his head, snapping the growth node. This time, I'm hoping to I'll get to see him bloom!

Happy Harold is Happy
I received Happy Harold in my very first order. He's happy and extremely healthy. He shows a nice bit of white variegation, and he's so cute. I know he will be gorgeous as he grows and begins to bloom. I'm a happy customer! Violet Barn will forever be my go to place for African Violets. I've shopped locally, on Ebay and on Etsy, and this is the best place to purchase a plant from. My Violet Barn plants are healthy, and that's so important to start and grow my collection!
Stunning!
There was almost no variegation on the little plant I got, but the newest leaves are just stunning! Plus the flowers are very charming, just a gorgeous plant all around, and flowering like a champ.

This is my favorite variegated leave violet, hands down. My plant arrived larger than most plant from Violet Barn. It was in great shape and was already in bud. Keep up the good work guys! I rarely have an issue with any plants from here. There are occasional plants in an awkward growth stage (Happy Harold was not one of them) but nearly all of them have been very health and sturdy.

This is my first AV! It has been growing quickly and becoming more variegated with every leaf. Came with blooms and have lots of new flowers emerging. Zero transportation damage. I’m so in love with it... I’m ordering another for a friend!
Wonderful plant!!!
I love this plant! I purchased a while back. It is one of my favorites. This strong variegated variety has really nice shaped leaves. I have mine in a window a bright window and in is very happy there.
A little concerned
I am a little concerned because my Happy Harold does not have variegated leaves yet. I am only a little concerned because it is still a baby and probably needs time to grow into this stage. I have never been disappointed in anything I have received from the violet barn yet and I don't think that I will be disappointed in Harold as it grows into a mature plant. Thank you Violet Barn.

Got this one as a gift, haven't yet got it to bloom. I've heard the variegated ones can be more difficult due to having less chlorophyll. But boy are those leaves gorgeous! Wish me luck.

Outstandingly Gorgeous African Violet

Happy Harold is amazing!
I have ordered 2 of these and they are incredible plants! Maybe a little more cold sensitive than others and when in too much light they loose their variegation on their leaves (but that is not a plant flaw). Everyone who is a plant lover and comes to my house loves to see this plant! Blossom is not outlandish but this one is all about the leaves for me anyway!
1st time buyer
This is the first time I have ordered from The Violet Barn and had no idea what to expect. The delivery was quick, which was a good thing because I was getting pretty antsy. My mail person went to my neighbors house so when I noticed I yelled for her. To my horror, she started spinning the box on its axis, corner to corner. I thought my violets would be destroyed. When I opened the box, everything was perfect. They had taken such great care in the packaging that nothing had moved. Thank you Violet Barn!
A special violet
I purchased this violet some time ago since it was my father's name. It looks exactly like your picture, and in my opinion, has the prettiest variegated leaves of all. I have started some from leaves for relatives with no problem. So glad it's still in your collection.
Happy Harold
I bought this plant several months ago, It's now blooming flowers are small and unimpressive. The foliage isn't that impressive, the leaves don't have that much variegation and edges are rolled.

Love Happy Harold
This plant is so gorgeous! Mine is still young but it has lots of buds coming up and one open flower. The color is so unique and goes great with the awesome foliage! This violet is a keeper!!
HAPPY HAROLD!!!
I ordered this plant on March 6, 2015 (along with five other violets) and they were packaged wonderful. Happy Harold has tripled in size and now has 2 flowers blooming along with 8 more buds. I know I should cut them off so the energy will go to the plant but I had to see for myself what color the flowers are. The foliage is beautiful. This is a great company to order plants. I would highly recommend it!!!
Great variegated leaves.
I enjoy Happy Harold. Mine is very spreading with flowers that are not particularly in bunches...but kind of spread out. A lot like the photo above. I've had mine for a few years now and it never disappoints. I would recommend for foliage lovers.....and loversof something different!
Harold Makes Me Happy
Happy Harold is one of my favorite violets. The variegation on the leaves is stunning and the flowers are delightful. Happy Harold was registered in 1971...proof that some of the oldies are as good or better than some newest violets. If you want a plant that will look outstanding when it's not in bloom select Happy Harold.
hardy Happy Harold
I excitedly purchased this guy, because of the wonderful contrast of dark purple flowers to the white in the variegated leaves! This plant is not only stunning, he is also made of some tough stuff as he has dealt with less than stellar conditions in my freezing single pained kitchen....Now his flowers are a tad pale but he's been blooming since he arrived and has steadily doubled his size :D
A classic
I've recently neglected my collection and this plant is a trooper, and very forgiving. Beautiful contrast of bloom and variegation.

Very Disappointed
6/2/14 I ordered Happy Harold a couple months back and I was very happy, the leaves very striking, but when it did arrive, it had brown spots on 3-4 of the leaves, and with in 2 days the leaves were completely brown and wilted, even the tiny baby leaf had brown on it. I called Rob and told him, he said I'll refund your money! I said no, no I'll just buy another one ,let me do that now. He gave the money back anyway. I waited a couple weeks and re-ordered the violet. I got it Friday May 3oth, 2014 and I'm very disappointed, it looks nothing like the photo. All the leaves are green, not a speck of white. Also Rob had said if I put in the comment box a violet I'd like for my "freebie" he would send that violet if he had it , if not one similar to it. Well, he sends me a Mini violet(I don't like mini's, that's why I don't order them!!)"Irish Flirt", hate the plant, pale green tiny flowers, look just like the leaves , in fact it's hard to even notice the blooms because they blend too much with the leaves. Since December I have ordered 10 violets, got 2 freebies, ordered 2 violets for my sister and had them shipped to her. Rob, I didn't want the money refunded on the first Happy Harold, I just wanted to order one fast to get a nice pretty one!! Out of all the violets I have ordered, 8 of them have never bloomed!! they get the very nice East sunlight, I have to rotate them the leaves grow toward the window, I feed them, but no blooms. Not Happy about Happy Harold, no variegated leaves!!
Strikingly Beautiful!!
I love Happy Harold, he arrived happy too with tiny blooms,I don't know what might of happened between shipping and to me but 4 of the leaves had brown along the edge, and a spot here or there. Those leaves wilted turned completely brown . So I snipped them off. The leaves it has left seem to be doing good, I thing that it getting watered and that plastic wrap covering the soil, Harold was I think a little too wet, so I don't water him the same as I do the others. So keep that in mind if you get one, he doesn't need much to drink!!

The variegated foliage is so beautiful! This is the most cold hardy of my AV's. It tolerated being in the window of a room that goes down to 60 at night in the winter.
Constant bloomer
I bought this plant last year and it has not stopped blooming. It is in a south facing window and I highly recommend this to anyone who wants a constant bloomer.

Undecided
I fell madly in love with the picture of this plant--I love the heavy variegation and the dark flowers. Mine has not exhibited that level of variegation, however, and the flowers are pale. I've made some changes to increase light levels, and will report back, but it also took two years for it to flower. I'm new to African Violets (primarily an orchid-grower), so it's probably me, but I'll admit disappointment so far. I will update if there are significant changes in the next couple years.

Beautiful Plant
I just bought one of these and it arrived quickly and safely. The variegated leaves are so pretty. It hasn't bloomed yet, but I'm sure it will be even more beautiful when it does.
A real eye catcher
This plant never fails to stand out from any other violets in my home! Everyone who sees it comments on how absolutely gorgeous it is! The leaves alone are amazing, but when the flowers are in bloom ( which seems to be constantly) this plant will make anyone take notice!

My Happy Harold is just like the one pictured here. The foliage is one of a kind and beautiful. Large spreading plant with flowers intersparsed within the leaves. Not in one "bouquet" formation like other violets. I really get pleasure from it. Has not been out of flower since the first time it flowered in my home. Recommended!!
The Happiness of Harold
This voilet really lives up to it's name! It is a Happy Harold. Mine blooms almost year round, and when it's not in bloom, the foilage is just so sweet to enjoy. I recommend this violet, and was glad to see it back in stock.

I think it's interesting to grow this variety for historical reasons, but it also seems to be a good performer. It blooms easily and seems to grow quickly.
Awesome Variegation
If you're a fan of variegation, you must grow Happy Harold for its white and shades-of-green bold variegation. The flowers are simple, but there are many, and it's often in bloom. It's a fairly fast grower and quite a robust plant - not picky about growing conditions. I'm not sure I'd call it a "small" standard; I let mine grow to past 12" to display lots of the lovely leaves.
