My all timefavorite

Five stars because this species violet is unique and what a beauty! A small violet, fuzzy serrated dark leaves, beautiful and dainty dark bluish purple flowers. I just wish I could keep one a live in my home environment. Seems to prefer growing under lights, but very fussy. I’ll try again soon.

This plant!

I have this type of african violet and absolutely love it! Now I am thinking it is time to buy a few different types. Seriously loving african violets!

My fav SP

This little gem is by far my favorite SP and I have over ten different ones. Lovely little blooms. Can be a little fussy, doesn’t like to be ignored and needs a real regular schedule for water, fertilizer and repotting - keep up and this little plant will constantly reward you!

Fascinating plant!

African violets tend to have hairs on their leaves, this one is as hairs as some caterpillars (that's a good thing). The leaf edges are almost tan at the tips. The most interesting part is the way light shines through the translucent main leaf veins and edges. I love looking at the leaves when my plant lights are behind them! The plant hasn't bloomed yet and it is becoming a favorite. The plant arrived well packed, on the large side, and very healthy.

My favorite species violet!

This little violet grows very symmetrical in both natural or light stand situations Frequently blooms sweet, little purple flowers and has distinctive leaves boosting a hairy surface on top. Always the plant my eyes go to when I am near my violet stand!

The Dream Species Violet

It doesn't have the flashier blooms of a hybrid, but it is a cute and sweet plant--it is also so much more tolerant of a bit of neglect than some of my others.

I love the leaves!

This is turning out to be one of my favorite species plants. I thought species would be easier to grow, but several have not done well for me. (I think I may give them too much light, like I do my hybrids.) This one has done well for me. It blooms almost all the time. The dark green leaves are very pretty. I've started several new plants and one is in a corner where it doesn't get as much light, but it seems to be thriving, getting bigger and blooming!

Lovely Leaves

The photo doesn't do it justice.

My favorite species violet

This plant is absolutely stunning. The leaves are velvety on top with a really unique appearance, and turn blood red when the light shines through them. Completely unique and completely beautiful. It does seems to be a rather small grower and the flowers are rather small but the foliage is out of this world and like nothing else!

Leaves!

Another standout species selection. The leaves appear almost black above, with prominent pale green veins. Spectacular especially when sunshine lights up the leaves. Wild-type single flowers will always have a place in my heart and in my collection. Together, it's an elegant beauty.
