Miniature Gesneriads

All of the plants listed here are small-leaved, all will bloom, and all are suitable for the indoor home garden, either under lights or in windows.  By "small" or "miniature" we mean plants that are easily grown as small plants in small pots.  Many are suitable for use in container gardens.

Their appearance, and how large you choose to grow them is entirely up to you.  They will look equally attractive as either a small plant in a small container or as a large display plant (that is small leaved).  For example, Olive has grown the Columnea 'Broget Stavenger' shown at left, as both a hanging basket in the glasshouse and used in her dish gardens.

Photos shown are of plants grown by us, and are representative of what plant can look like when properly grown--we cannot always ship mature plants in full bloom!
