Super Pretty!

The area I live makes it hard to grow orchids, so I thought I would try one of these! I've had it for nearly 3 years now, and it's been incredible. It blooms a good portion of the year, and it just as beautiful as in the pictures!

Beautiful first strep!

This plant is more than beautiful. It is exceptional. Easy to care for and is continously blooming. Can't say enough good things about this plant. You wont be disappointed in its performance.

Beautiful Plant

This was the first streptocarpus I ever purchased and made me purchase more. When they say that it looks like an orchid, they are correct. An absolutely beautiful plant with lots of blooms.

Beautiful blooms

I got this plant about a week ago and it already has one gorgeous bloom with another on the way! The flower looks exactly like the picture. Very healthy plant and a great start to my collection.

Resposible for Creating Two Collectors!

This was my very first strep, and it turned me into a strep collector. It bloomed non-stop for two YEARS until I had to repot it for the first time (and resumed blooming vigorously shortly after repotting). It's a gorgeous plant. I gave a blooming crown division to a gardening friend (his first strep), and it turned HIM into a collector. He's a woodworker and eventually made an oak table to showcase his strep collection in front of a set of double windows in his house. CAUTION! Just this one strep could turn you into a strep ADDICT (uh, collector).

One of my first streps

This was one of my first streps. I abused it with poor lighting and trying to figure out a watering schedule and it came through like a champ. Blooms constantly.

Orchids, for sure

This isn't a review I have to write for a Freebie but wanted to tell you about this little plant. I got this in a previous order but just had to rave about it. I have 20 Streps and love them all. They all have something special about them but this one is over the top. I also have a few Orchids and agree with the info....the flowers are huge and look a lot like my one orchid. The size and color is amazing...you will be thrilled with it as I am.

So pretty!

One of my most vigorous streps. Blooms non-stop! Wilts a little when I forget to water, but bounces right back. A winner!

great bloomer

This is one of the best blooming streps offered. I've had blooms all through winter, and now a spring growth spurt with even more flowers. It's one of the easier growers, too - doesn't mind my low humidity and occasional lack of water.

the most flowers in my collection!

This plant puts out more flowers more often than any other in my collection! I am a novice with houseplants, but this one seems to love whatever it is I'm doing, the blooms just keep on coming.

The Most Rewarding Houseplant EVER!

Bristols Tie Dyed was my very first Streptocarpus. I purchased it in April, 2008; It started blooming that May; and it bloomed nonstop until I needed to divide it about a month ago (January, 2011). IT WAS NEVER WITHOUT BLOOM IN OVER 2-1/2 YEARS! I had equal luck with other Bristols varieties I purchased in 2009. More often than not, my plants are blooming heavily. I grow my "streps" in filtered sunlight supplemented by grow lights all evening. I make my own Cornell-mix potting soil, and I fertilize with a constant-feed formula of Peters Specialties African Violet Plant Food. Streptocarpus are the most rewarding houseplants I have ever grown, and if you’re only going to order one, I can’t recommend Tie Dyed highly enough. It’s my favorite!
