Beg. Escargot

Easily our best seller.  Aptly named for its large sworls of silver, then green, with very fuzzy stems.  More upright grower.  Very show, the first to sell from our shop or at shows.

Beg. Escargot

Average Rating 4.4 out of 5

Healthy Looking Plant

I received my Escargot begonia about 3 days after ordering it, so A+ on quick turn around. Packing was very impressive: well wrapped, covered, secured and cushioned. It would have taken crushing abuse for any damage to have hurt the plants inside: another A+. I've had my Escargot begonia for about three weeks now. I have not transplanted it yet as I haven't decided how I want to plant it yet. I do have it and two other plants from that order in a small terrarium so they are all getting the humidity and light they need. My Escargot's largest leaf started drying up around its edges after the first week here. I think that's probably due to the change in environments. The other leaves are still very healthy looking. I'm very happy with Violet Barn's plants and shipping. A+ = 5 stars.

Very beautiful plant

I found this particularly difficult to grow but the leaves, with the quirky curl, make the plant a definite purchase for every year. No one seems to mention the pink flowers which are really quite strongly fragrant with a nice rose-like scent.

My Very Favorite

I love this plant. It is so unusual and grows so well in my garden window. Before the fire that destroyed our home, I had propagated and split this plant several times. Friends and company were always asking for starts. Now I'm starting over and this is one of the first plants I want to replace.

A keeper

It took me almost 10 years to find this plant after I saw it at the botanical gardens. With a little care, and time it makes a great show specimen. I lost my original plant and had to get another one. Everyone who sees this one wants a cutting.
