Great contrasts

I bought this plant in 2019 and it did not do so well for me and finally died. I was able to put down a leaf before I lost it and surprisingly the babies off the leaf have down beautifully. The plant that formed has lovely medium green leaves that contrast beautifully to show off the darker ruby-wine blooms. I debuted it to encourage more leaf growth and see it is trying to produce 4 more bloom stocks. It is a lovely plant.

Blooming Quickly!

I am not an experienced plant grower, by any stretch of the imagination. I decided I wanted some flowering plants in the house, that would be easy to take care of and cat friendly, should somebody choose to chew on one. So after researching some violets, I decided to go with Violet barn, and I am happy I did! This plant was my first purchase, and I couldn't be more thrilled with its progress in the last month. It's in a window that isn't particularly sunny during the winter, but it already has sprouted several flowers and is looking extremely healthy. I will definitely be purchasing more varieties!

LOVE!!

Chateau Briand is an absolutely spectacular plant. The wavy apple green foliage shapes up very well. Breathtaking blooms. With age, has done well under my LED lights. Would suggest letting it grow for several months near a window & letting it mature a bit before putting under LEDs though. When young, it had a tendency to bleach/burn easily even under the special dimmable leds I use for young plants. Luckily I keep an eagle eye on all my AVs & moved Chateau Briand to a bright window as soon as I noticed. Now she thrives under the LEDs!

Beautiful flower

I haven't had this plant for very long, but it is already blooming. What a lovely, large flower it has! If you like elegant looking flowers, this one's for you!

Highly Recommended

I bought LE Chateau Briand from Violet Barn in May, 2018 when I attended the National Convention in Buffalo, NY. Unfortunately, it soon developed a tight crown and the leaves became stiff and brittle. I lost that plant but I saved two leaves, washed them in the sink with hot running water, as hot as my fingers could stand, thinking I might kill any pest that caused the demise of the mother plant. Well almost 2 years later, I have 4 mature plants in bloom and a few babies developing. I like that they are rather compact - in their 2 1/2 inch pots, they measure 9 inches in diameter. I know I am underpotting but it is the only way I can fit all my AV’s in my light stand. Each plant is naturally symmetrical with light to medium lime-green, wavy leaves. The deep red fluffy flowers with white borders are big, ranging from 2 to 2 1/2 inches. Each strong stalk supports 2-3 heavily doubled flowers straight up above the foliage without bending down. A beautiful and a highly recommended variety!
